The OutsideChurch app is published by RECLAIMED.US, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation (EIN 27-0382932), 8122 Cohosh Ct, Raleigh, NC 27616-3344. Questions: hello@outsidechurch.org.

This policy covers the OutsideChurch mobile app. We have written it to be short, because the app does very little with your information.

What the app does not do

The app has no accounts. You do not register, you do not sign in, and you do not give us your name, email address, or phone number. We show no advertising. We use no analytics or tracking services. We do not build a profile of you, and we do not sell or rent information about you to anyone.

Your ZIP code

To show you gatherings near you, the app sends the ZIP code you type to our own server at outsidechurch.org, which replies with a list of nearby gatherings. We use it for that request and we do not store it against your identity — we have no identity for you to store it against.

The app does not use your device’s GPS location.

Updates to the app

The app checks our software-update service, operated for us by Expo, to see whether a newer version is available. That check includes a randomly generated installation identifier, which tells the service whether this installation has already asked for an update. It is not linked to you, your name, or your device’s advertising identifier, and it is not used for advertising or tracking. This is the only information the app sends that persists between sessions.

Information you would send us deliberately

If you email us at hello@outsidechurch.org, we have your email and whatever you write. We use it to reply to you.

Security

All traffic between the app and our servers uses encrypted HTTPS connections.

Children

The app is not directed to children. Gatherings listed in the app are organized by adults. Parents and guardians are responsible for any minors who attend an in-person gathering.

A word about gatherings

OutsideChurch helps people find each other in person. It is a tool for connecting, not a vetting service — we do not run background checks on the people who post or attend gatherings. Meet in public places, use your judgment, and call 911 in an emergency.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the new version here and update the effective date above.
